Whitstable; situated on the North Kent coast is famous for oysters, 2nd home owners, colourful beach huts. And soon if the council get their way, a harbour with a supermarket, pub or bloody great fish tank!
With glorious sunsets and a shingle beach, this town attracts visitors from far and wide.
Over the past years many hundreds of thousands of pounds have been ploughed into making the town as safe as possible from the ravages of the sea. At the weekends you can watch; as many of the visitors grab a handful of shingle, and try in vain to sink Sheppey! Now fun it may be for them, but that’s our defence against the rising tides they are skimming out to sea. So if you want to skim stones, bring your own.
