If only they could get it passed all the abandoned yachts left scattered on the beach.
Never-the-less, the council has decreed that the local working girls should take precautions when working in the area of the old harbour.
Located on the site of the old skating rink, the new harbour should be an interesting place to be when the fishing boat either needs to go to sea or return to port as many hands will be needed to drag its wooden hull some twenty yards to the high water mark (plus it needs to go over the three foot high sea defences).
But for all you seagoing landlubbers out there, the lifeboat has been inflated to cope with any distress calls that may come its way.
Whitstable is also known for its sexual diversity, and the old harbour is the place to unwind. Prices start as low as twenty woodbine's (but as they have just gone up in the latest budget, those little extras that would have cost you a few bob more, are now thrown in for free, so the budget was not as short-sighted as we all thought).
For some reason this sign has now been removed! But as far as I know, prices & fetishes remain the same..

A recent notice on the Whitstable Yacht Club web site warned owners of boats beached in town that there are a number of boats on the beach, and boards in the board racks, for which storage charges for 2008 has not been paid.
There was to be a working party on 16 March at which all boats and boards that could be identified as "non payers" would be moved to make room for those who have paid. Unfortunately some members of WYC decided enough was enough and started to set fire to all the boats not displaying a 2008 sticker, but because of the low light conditions at midnight and an excess of discounted booze, some of the boats that went up in smoke took their 2008 stickers with them!
